Apologies to JFD for lifting the "Little Barry" designation, but the bumbling reader of TOTUS truly is living up to it. Or should I say down to it? The man who would be king continues to make headlines, receive loving ego caresses by some in the media, and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a very little man indeed. Kate at An Ol' Broad's Ramblings has a regular feature titled "Weasel Time", which is where I snagged this descriptive cartoon. This is just one of many that she has collected, all of which represent an honest take on the current man-caused catastrophes.
But wait... isn't there only one man-caused catastrophe on the minds of Americans? Let's see, there is the oil spill which is likely man-caused to a large degree, although accidents do happen and hopefully the causes will be determined once the leak is stopped and the mess is cleaned up. Of course, stopping the flow and preventing the spread of crude does not take priority over the political points to be scored... at least to some. This point is a symptom of another man-caused catastrophe (or as my father-in-law suggested, "the greatest man-made disaster"). Who can honestly assess the state of things and deny that the Obama Presidency coupled with decades of bureaucratic barrier construction is indeed a man-caused catastrophe? It could also be assumed that an Obama Presidency would be quite catastrophic even in the absence of the barriers of which his administration either:
