I wanted to avoid writing anything remotely related to the massacre in Tucson. The reaction of the left and its media apparatus has been predictable as has the reaction of liberal members of Congress. Bob Brady (D - PA) wants to outlaw things such as the Sarah Palin - cross hair ad (or whatever it was) and Carolyn McCarthy (D - NY) wants to get a new gun control measure passed. Predictable. The left sees an opportunity in this horrific event and seizes it with fully clamped jaws.
What prompted this post was a report regarding a law a Republican is going to propose. I know, I know, I should know better than to expect more from Republicans than Democrats. I would not have expected, despite his grade of "D" from the NRA, that Peter King (R - NY) would be taking advantage of this tragic event. Perhaps Congressman King truly believes the law he is going to propose is indeed the right thing to do... if so, it sounds like we have a real wiener, I mean winner as the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee.
